Our journey by camper from Denmark to Geiranger

Our fantastic journey started in Denmark, from where we drove north to discover the Norwegian wonders of nature. To get to Norway comfortably, we decided to take a ferry StenaLine from Frederikshavn to Oslo. Stena Line offers best-in-class and spacious ferries that provide a pleasant journey, as well as many amenities on board, such as restaurants, shops, and places to relax. The crossing was great and we could enjoy the beautiful views of the North Sea.

After arriving in Oslo, we began our journey north, having a long way to go, but knowing that there were many unforgettable moments and views we did not care : ) Let’s get on board with that challenge.

Our main goal this time was to visit two unique places: Geiranger and the Lofoten archipelago.

After a few days of driving, we finally reached the place. Geiranger is a tiny town, located on the fjord of the same name. Situated between the steep and green slopes of the mountains, Geiranger Fjord is one of the most beautiful places in Norway. It is not without reason that it was entered on the UNESCO list. We chose the Geiranger Camping, located just above the water, which offered excellent conditions for a camper stop, and the view of the fjord from our place was beautiful. We decided to stay here for a few days to be able to fully enjoy this magical place.

Day 1 – hiking in the mountains

On the first day in Geiranger we decided to take a hiking trip on one of the numerous trails leading up. The route was tough and demanding, but totally worth it! We have seen numerous waterfalls, streams, and green meadows before we reached the viewing point. From there we could admire the panoramic view of the entire fjord. It was a sight that cannot be described in words you have to see it yourself.

Day 2 – bike trip

The next day we went for a bike ride along the fjord. Driving in such an environment was pure pleasure. The smell of fresh air was felt, and the noise of water added energy. After returning to the campsite, we made a bonfire and spent the evening admiring the sunset over the fjord. Those were moments of peace and joy.

Trip to Lofota – sightseeing

After a few days in Geiranger it’s time for the next stage of our journey — Lofoten. The Lofoten Archipelago is a paradise for nature lovers and camper travelers. After a long ride, we reached the Moskenes Campsite, located near the ferry harbor. This place offered beautiful views of the mountains and the sea. At first glance, Lofoten delighted us with its wildness nature.

We also decided to stay in Ramberg Gjestegård, located right next to one of the most beautiful Lofoten beaches. White sand, blue water and dark rocks made a great impression on us. Even though it was cold, we decided to dip our feet into the icy sea, which was a new experience for us!

Every day we discovered new corners of Lofoten – on foot, by bike or by rented kayak. We admired tall rocky cliffs, crystal clear lakes and picturesque fishing villages. In the evenings, when the sun was setting and the first stars appeared in the sky, we felt that we were in a different world, far from everyday problems.

Return to Denmark

We ended the journey with a return to Denmark, with beautiful memories. It was a trip that will always remain in our hearts — full of adventures, discoveries and amazing views that only Norway can offer. We recommend such a trip to everyone, because Norway is a country that you have to see with your own eyes to fully appreciate its unique beauty.
