I’m sure you already know very well, from our earlier articles, that Sweden is a real paradise for campers. The land of a thousand lakes, infinite forests and the Allemansr\u00e4tten law, which allows camping almost everywhere, offers unforgettable experiences for tented and motorhome travelers. Below you will find a route that connects the best campsites in various regions of Sweden – from campsites with full infrastructure to wild, secluded nooks, where your only company will be elk and aurora beds.<\/p>\n\n

Sk\u00e5ne<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

We start our trip from the most southern region of Sweden – Scania, which is perfectly suited for the first adventure with the Swedish style of camping.<\/p>\n\n

First Camp Malm\u00f6<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

This campsite in the outskirts of Malm\u00f6<\/strong> is ideal for acclimatization. It offers full infrastructure for motorhomes and spacious places for tents. There are modern bathrooms, self-service kitchens and a grocery store on site. From here you can easily get to the center of Malm\u00f6<\/strong> and the famous \u00d6resund Bridge, which connects Sweden and Denmark.<\/p>\n\n

Wild camping in the Stenshuvud National Park<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

After two days of the city campsite, it’s time for a real camping in the forest this time! Stenshuvud National Park offers beautiful views of the Baltic Sea and white, sandy beaches. According to the Allemansr\u00e4tten, you can pitch a tent for one night in most places, provided you keep a distance from private properties and respect the local nature.<\/p>\n\n

Malandia – the heart of the Swedish lake<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The next stage is the land known from Astrid Lindgren’s novel, full of lakes and characteristic red houses.<\/p>\n\n

Camping Eken\u00e4s<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

This picturesquely located campsite by Lake Helgasj\u00f6n offers both camper sites and beautiful camping sites right on the shoreline. Guests can rent kayaks and bicycles, a sauna overlooking the lake and a restaurant serving local specialties. It is an excellent base for exploring the region.<\/p>\n\n

Lake \u00c5snen archipelago<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

After a comfortable campsite, it’s time for an adventure. Lake \u00c5snen, which was declared a National Park in 2018, offers a unique opportunity to camp on small, uninhabited islands. You can rent a kayak and arrange a few days trip from the island to the island. On many of them there are special places for lighting campfires.<\/p>\n\n

Stockholm<\/strong> and the archipelago – urban luxury and wildlife<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The Swedish capital and its beautiful archipelago is an extraordinary combination of an urban campsite with wild nature.<\/p>\n\n

Bred\u00e4ng Camping<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Just 15 minutes by metro from the center of Stockholm<\/strong> is a quiet campsite offering places for campers and tents. It is an ideal base for exploring the capital. The campsite offers full infrastructure, including modern bathrooms, guest kitchen and free WiFi.<\/p>\n\n

Wild camping on Ut\u00f6<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Another place is Ut\u00f6<\/strong> Island, which you can reach by ferry from Stockholm<\/strong>, offers beautiful places for wild camping among rocks and pine forests. The eastern shore of the island is virgin beaches ideal for setting up a tent.<\/p>\n\n

Dalsland – Swedish Canada<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The Dalsland region, known as the “Swedish Canada” due to its similar landscape, offers some of the most beautiful camping sites in the whole country.<\/p>\n\n

This unique campsite specializes in active recreation. It offers places for campers and tents, as well as houses on trees or transparent domes where we can observe stars. There is a rental office of kayaks, mountain bikes and climbing equipment on site.<\/p>\n\n

Wild camping on Lake Lel\u00e5ng<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

For experienced campers we recommend wild places at Lake Lel\u00e5ng. We can rent a kayak here and go on a few days trip along the lake, camping on wild beaches. We especially recommend the area around Dalsland Canal, where the landscape resembles Canadian lakes.<\/p>\n\n

Lapland – a challenge for campers and tents<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Our journey ends in Swedish Lapland, the land of the northern sun, the aurora borealis and untouched nature.<\/p>\n\n

Camp Ripan in Kiruna<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Situated on the edge of Sweden’s northernmost city, this comfortable campsite offers luxurious amenities for tired travelers. In addition to standard camper and tent locations, there is also a sauna and swimming pool, and a restaurant serving traditional Lapland dishes, including reindeer meat and Arctic fish.<\/p>\n\n

Wild camping in the Abisko National Park<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

At the end of the trip, the biggest challenge awaits you, a wild camping in one of the most beautiful national parks in Sweden. The Abisko National Park offers unique views, trekking trails of various difficulty levels and a chance to see the aurorae (from September to March). According to the Allemansr\u00e4tten, you can pitch a tent for one night in most places in the park.<\/p>\n\n
